Kayla and John’s cheerful Catholic Iowa wedding was filled with special details that were a true honor to capture. As Kayla got ready, her sister and maid of honor helped button up her dress, while her mom brought out Kayla’s “something borrowed.” Her mom gently latched Kayla’s great-grandma’s pearl necklace around her neck, and everyone in the room was practically in tears. Though she hadn’t planned to wear it all day, it complemented her dress so perfectly that she just had to.

Shortly after, we stepped outside for the first looks. Kayla had first looks not only with her soon-to-be husband but also with her bridesmaids, dad, and two brothers. It was heartwarming to see everyone’s heartfelt reactions, and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight.

Kayla’s dad, John, received a sentimental gift: a set of cufflinks engraved with, “You’ll always be the first man I ever loved. 8.17.19,” while the other featured a picture of Kayla sitting on her dad’s lap as a child. (Fun fact: Kayla’s dad, grandpa, brother, and husband are all named John.)

The ceremony was beautiful, Father forgot to have the couple kiss, they made sure to return for their first kiss while everyone clapped and cheered. The reception was full of dancing and continuing the celebration of this cheerful catholic Iowa wedding day.

Thank you, Kayla and John, for letting me be a part of your special day. It was absolutely perfect! I hope married life has been a dream!
