Jennifer and Sean celebrated their love with a stunning Classic Cathedral Wedding in Iowa at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna. The church, with its immaculate beauty, left me in awe as soon as I arrived. The elegance of the architecture, the intricate details, and the perfect lighting inside created a breathtaking setting for their nuptials.
When I asked Jennifer about her and Sean she said “We met on match.com and had our first date at a local restaurant in Fort Dodge. After a 3hr meal, we knew we wanted to continue the date so we went bowling. Fun fact: we haven’t been bowling since that first date!”
The wedding day started with a perfect overcast sky. Although there were initial concerns about the weather, including the possibility of a downpour and no sunset, the day ended up being flawless, culminating in the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing.
Jennifer and Sean began their day at Jennifer’s parents’ country home, where they had their first looks surrounded by friends and family. The charm and scenery of the countryside added a magical touch to their preparations. The celebration continued with a reception at Textile’s in Dyersville, a renovated brewery with a rich history. Originally built in 1906 as a gasoline engine factory and later converted into a sewing factory, the venue’s historical details added a unique character to the event.
The reception at the Beef Barn was beautifully decorated with string lights and greenery. One of my favorite touches was Jennifer’s creative idea to have her students write down what love meant to them. Jennifer is a teacher and she had her students write “love is…” notes. They were framed and placed on the guest tables, adding a personal and heartfelt element to the celebration.
Despite the challenges of COVID-19, the day was a testament to the love and support of Jennifer and Sean’s friends and family. Their story is filled with romance, shared interests in classic music and cooking, and a passion for adventure and travel. As Jennifer shared, “Sean and I are both pretty romantic, and we love spending quality time together. We’re excited about our first international trip this year!”
It was truly an honor to capture such a memorable and thoughtfully planned Classic Cathedral Wedding in Iowa. Can we also talk about ending the night with that amazing sunset? Chills.
